For the treatment of reproductive tract infections (endometritis, metritis, and pyometra) in horses when caused by susceptible organisms, including: Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa species (Pseudomonas aeruginosa), and Klebsiella pneumoniae species (Klebsiella pneumoniae).

Dosage and method of use

Usage instructions: Solution for uterine infusion of horses (mares).

The complete product

Horses (mares)
(8 ml) diluted with 200 ml of sterile physiological saline solution daily for 3 consecutive days.

warning

1. Not for use in horses intended for human consumption.
2. Amikacin, like other aminoglycosides, may be toxic to the kidneys, ears, and nerves.

Precautions

Precautions for animals:
Although amikacin is not significantly absorbed after uterine infusion, concomitant use of other aminoglycosides should be avoided due to the potential for side effects.

Precautions for humans

May cause an allergic skin reaction and may cause allergy, asthma, or breathing difficulties if inhaled.
Avoid inhaling spray or vapor.
Contaminated work clothes should not be allowed to leave the workplace. Wear protective gloves;
if ventilation is inadequate, wear a respirator.
If on skin: Wash with plenty of water.
If irritation or rash occurs: Seek medical advice/attention.
If inhaled: If breathing is difficult, move the person to fresh air and keep them comfortable to breathe.
If respiratory symptoms develop: Contact a poison center/doctor. Wash contaminated clothing before reuse.

Contraindications

There are no known contraindications to the use of this product in horses, except for a history of hypersensitivity to amikacin.

Storage

Store at a temperature not exceeding 30 degrees Celsius, and use immediately after opening.
